Groesbeck EDC hosted the first of what will now be a series of a free business web events.
The goal of this call was to catch up on the latest COVID-related business climate insight, regulations and to brainstorm what businesses will need, should consider, have to think about and should take action on to survive this new climate.
Contributors on the call included Economic Directors from Mexia and EDC, our area SBDC Business Analyst, a local Chamber director who leads a national marketing and social media team and a Groesbeck native, now owner of a Brazoria county Marketing Design Team – an agency specializing in small business growth.
Right now, we all have (at least) one shared focus. We’re all here to see and help small businesses survive this new environment. Typically, the entrepreneur is on a roller coaster, we can sit in the wings, see the drops coming and have a some idea of how to respond. In this case, we’re all on this COVID ride at the same time. Masterminds like this help us help each other and our businesses at the same time.

For the next installment, Amy Freeman will join us again to tell us more about the Paycheck Protection Program. Business owners signed paperwork for a loan to help cover payroll and business expenses amid the shutdown but if certain rules are followed those loans are forgiven. As those funds are actively rolling out, join us to talk about what to do next. What to track and pay for so that you are not having to pay those relief funds back in 6 months.
